HP EliteBook 840 14 inch G11 Notebook PC (8M4W0AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi All,

HP EB840G11 U5-125U 14 16GB/512 PC (A1RP2PT)

I am having an issue with my HP Elitebook 840 14-inch G11, where the  USB Type-C / Thunderbolt docking port is not working when the battery is lower than 20%. This has caused the laptop to not charge and not recognise the USB Dock.

What I have tried below with no luck:

1. Multiple reboots - Not resolving the issue.

2. Replaced the HP USB-C Dock G5 with a new one and verified with the older laptop model G9 and older, the docking station is all good without any issue. - Not resolving the issue.

3. Downloading and reinstalling the HP BIOS and System Firmware (W70) 01.05.00 Rev.A https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp156501-157000/sp156970.exe - Not resolving the issue.

The docking station is not charging or working for more than 2 minutes on both ports before it disconnects.

Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
