Can my HP Elitebook 840 G3 suppoert a nvme 4.0 enstead of a 3.0? Will i gain speed?

@Pedrosmas,

 

See page 2 of the user guide below that indicates that you model supports a 256 GB M.2 SSD PCIe NVMe 3x4 2280. Your M.2 slot is gen 3, and an M.2 NVMe gen 4 is backward compatible and will run but only at gen 3 speed.
