HP Elitebook 840 G3
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have been browsing the HP Community forums and other online channels to see what options I have to charge my Elitebook (840 G3) alternatively as my power source port has been malfunctioning and won't charge (it's been hit or miss for a few weeks now). Laptop is currently totally dead. I did receive a new battery less than 4 month ago. Another forum recommended to check for BIOS update, which I do have available and would love to try - but it requires me to be charged 50% or charging to download which are not an option. I know USB-C is an available port but will NOT charge the laptop. I do note one of the USB ports has the charging icon (lightening) so might work if I find the right input/output? Hoping for other options as my port does not seem to want to accept any HP charger. TIA!

Only the native charging port can be used to charge or power the laptop. You likely need to replace the DC jack cable to the motherboard.
