Product: HP Elitebook 850 g8 and HP G5 Docking Station
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
HP G8s getting USB device not recognized error. We have one office that keeps reporting this issue. HP Elitebook g8s and HP g5 docking stations. They have them in their offices and in the exam rooms and they move their laptops around. Sometimes multiple times a day or week they get the USB device not recognized message when connecting to a dock, and then the monitor/keyboard/mouse will not respond. If you move to another device it still doesn't work, but another use can put their laptop on that dock and it work. So the issue seems to be on the laptop, we replaced the laptops and docks and the issue still happens. You have to force shut down the laptop and boot back up before it will work on any dock again. Laptop drivers and bios are up to date and the docking station firmware is updated.  Issue presented on last two Docking station firmware versions.
