Elitebook 8730w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought two HP Elitebook 8730w workstation laptops from Ebay a few years ago for about $100 each.

(Yeah, I know they are more than 10 yr old -2009 laptops... Sorry... ;-))

They each had Intel Core2Duo P8700 and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3670 with 1680x1050 display.

One of the laptop works 100% fine, the other one suffers from boot problem. It would not be able to successfully load the OS 100% of the time (the screen would just be black). I need to usually turn off and reboot a few times to get the OS login screen loaded, but once it ran/loaded, it would run normally without any problem.

I tried changing into a brand new SSD, installing all the newest drivers etc to no success.

I finally found the culprit, after replacing (switching) the MXM Radeon 3670 graphics from both laptops.

So it was actually a weak/bad Radeon 3670 MXM GPU on one of the laptop.

These are the Radeon 3670 MXM CardsThese are the Radeon 3670 MXM Cards

I am currently searching for MXM graphics that would fit (the slot) and also fit the GPU Heatsink design. But due to my limited knowledge of this, I am struggling to find a good match.

What MXM type is a good fit for the slot in the laptop ?

What MXM graphics card could I replace it with ?? (I am sorry for the 'too general' question, I have found a few likely replacements, I will info about them ltr...)

Thx
