Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP Envy laptop, 13-AQ1013DX, cannot update the BIOS.

I have downloaded the correct update and it says it has prepared the update to go from F.10 to F.16, and to Restart.

After Restart all I get is a black screen.  No other activity at all.

It seems about every two boot cycles, it says it has a System Update to do and this result is the same.

So, I have tried Manually and Automatically updating BIOS but the system simply cannot do it.

I have also tried to update the BIOS by going through Device Management and updating the System (as shown by HP).

Anyone had success with stubborn BIOS updates?

Thanks.

Try updating first to one of the intermediate versions like F.11 or F.13, see if that works and then update to F.16 from there.
