Hi,
my battery stays at 90% now it is at 80% this morning. The issue is, after replugging, it might be that it loads for 1-2 minutes (orange LED) then it turns white. After 20 times replugging, I was able to load the battery to 90 %.
If I run the HP Diagnostics from startup (F2) and run the power components the results are "instable", differ:
1. after replugging and loading during the first two minutes it says everything is fine
2. if the replugging was longer then 2 minutes ago, when starting the power coimponents test, it fails with "Fuse Blown (42)".
How can the fuse be blown if it loads sometimes?? I have read that the complete Battery must be exchanged in case of a blown fuse. But I find the error quite diffuse...
Please help me!
BR
Peter

The next li k is the service manual there you will see the part number of the battery, do a search on the internet with that number and do the change yourself.

Hi @pedda2000
See the test detail, and look for the total charge capacity of the battery, if it is below 50% probably the battery is malfunctioning.
Although clearly the error messages indicate that the battery is damaged.
See here the result of the test

Thank you, Resistencia!
The capacity looks good. Unfortunately I did not photograph it but I remember quite well, that the capacity seems alright, at least no significant deviation!
What I wonder here is:
1. The device works all the time with power cable, so I assume the power jack works pretty good, although it is a little shaky after 4 years.
2. The battery is often loading for 1-2 minutes after replugging.Under Ubuntu 22.04 Linux it is a little bit more difficult and takes more tries but under Windows Home 10 x64 it works pretty each time. So I have "loaded" the device by 10 % from 80 to 90 (where it is now). If the fuse is blown, and I understand a fuse as a analog device, which acts binary (digital), either it is blown and no contact or there is a contact and so it will load. So that is why I assume, either the loading electronic is shaky or "blown" somehow or the battery. Can you confirm the loading electronic is inside the battery? What is your thoughts regarding this weird and somehow inconsistent behavior?
If I want to repair it, how much would it cost to:
1. repair the jack
2. repair the electronic
3. replace the battery (hopefully with the electronic on board, because otherwise we have a mainboard issue???)
Thanks in advance
Greetings from Germany, Dortmund

The fuse is an internal part of the battery, this battery has built-in, not only fuse, but charge control chip, and RTC (CMOS) battery, I am sure you should change the battery, you can contact a service provider at the following link and check their prices.

Thanks again, Resistencia,
The next center is like 400-500 km away. I am living right in the industrial center of Germany but for some reasons all centers are at the far borders (at the sea!!!), in the east and south. Whoever does choose this, did a weird job, because most of the population is out of sight for those centers. At least Düsseldorf or Cologne or Dortmund I would have guessed they have centers!
But anyway, is there a way to replace the battery by your own? It seems feasible, I am a former eletronics specialists by profession (today Electrical Engineer and doing software ;-))....BR Peter

Annotation: That the battery has a cmos battery itself which cannot be reloaded, is a bad joke for a Lithium Ion battery. It is absolutely a shame and an example for non-sustainability! This is only for the HP responsibles!
