HP Envy 13
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

As seems to have happened with others, my HP laptop screen hinge has broken - 1 week out of warranty! The machine is still working ok, no problems with the screen itself - yet.

I have been trying to find out how to contact HP to get information on how to address this, but they seem to have made contacting them as difficult as possible.

Any advice (apart from don't buy the machine - its a bit late) would be much appreciated. I am in the UK

The rear cover replacement should resolve the issue.

I will provide you with a part number if you provided the complete product number and/or the product number.

Power on and immediately tap the F1 key to invoke the system information dialogue.

Look for the Product Number in the list and post it in your next reply.

Any competent notebook shop can replace it for you at a reasonable cost.

Hi, the laptop is an HP Envy 13-BA0010NA (is this the info you need?)

Just wondering - don't the hinges connect to the TOP cover/palm rest?

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

Where have the hinge connects broken?  Can you take a digital photo that shows where?

Hello, sorry for the delay in replying, things got busy over the holidays and this got pushed to one side.

It looks like the problem is where the hinge connects to the screen back panel.

If you have a part number, and possibly a link to somewhere to obtain it, that would be great.

Many thanks
