My HP Envy x360 13-db1000 is having challenges with Thunderbolt USB-C Docks. Every few minutes to seconds, the connection to the dock is severed, and all peripherals disconnect. This lasts about 5 seconds, and everything reconnects again. I then get the following notification:
HP Recommends using an original power adaptor from HP.
This happens when using an HP G2Thunderbolt dock and a Dell WD19S.
Please advise if this reflects a hardware defect, or should I ALSO plug the laptop in with the separate power plug (round jack)?

I don't know Dell dock, but for HP docks, sounds like it is not compatible. Please check the following docks

Please update the dock firmware, hope this helps. What is it anyway ?
Regards.

I was confused by this reply.
The HP Envy 13t-bd1000 has a Thunderbolt4 with USB4 port. Thunderbolt 4 is backward compatible.
So - I'm confused why the ENVY would not be compatible with specific docks? This seems to either be a failing of design, or a hardware problem with this particular laptop.
Also, the HP G2 120w is in fact listed in the list of "compatible" docks that you liked. Since I get the exact same symptom with the HP G2 and the Dell WD19S, it would be only logical to remove the docks as the variable.
How would I make a warranty claim?

Not all USB-C ports are the same. HP supplies a list of compatible machines for the dock (please check my previous reply). What is the point to make a warranty claim ?
