I've noticed that after owning my HP Envy for about a month, the hinge creaks very very loudly after opening it. Should I be concerned and what should I do to prevent it?

HP Recommended

You need to lubricate the hinge.  The warranty is for manufacturing defects only.

This discussion is about using a toothpick to lubricate a MacBook hinge that had the same problem.

 

Or just do a general search

 

Since this problem showed up within a few months, I would contact HP directly and let them know and ask about a solution.   Make a note of who you talked to and the date and time.  If a chat then save a transcript of it.
