My HP laptop is losing battery power daily and light blinks on the side.  Am I just going to have to throw this laptop away since the battery is not replaceable in this computer?  I am technically challenged!  Battery says 88% (plugged in) and I am using the charger that came with the computer.  HELP

The battery can be replaced it just involves opening the case. Not nearly as hard as it seems. We can find you a replacement battery online and provide detailed step by step instructions if you are willing to try.

Can you give me an idea about how much a new battery costs?  If it can be replaced I don't understand why they would say that the battery is irreplaceable?   I guess a 6 year old computer is ready for the dump?  Will I lose any of my info.  I don't back up like I know I should so there is a lot on here.  Would I have to back everything up on an external drive or thumb drive?  Don't know the first thing about doing that.   Thank you.

New battery somewhere between 40 and 70 dollars. Your data will not be affected by replacing the battery. Still need your exact model number to give you specific instructions or tell you where to get a replacement battery.
