Hi everyone,
I've been having overheating and fan noise on my laptop lately, so I cleaned the vent and replaced the thermal paste (haven't touched it in the last 7 years). My laptop does not overheat anymore, but the vent is still a bit noisy. Is there a chance that i will solve the problem by buying a new vent? Will this actually help? If so, what kind of vent should I buy?
I already tried vent speed-regulating softwares and changed the settings in the CPU cooling section ecc.
Thank you in advance,
Paolo

By "vent" I am guessing you mean "fan". Here is the Service Manual:
The fan is this part:
(14) Fan (includes cable) 720235-001
HP itself will no longer stock this.
Many of these are for sale on eBay Italy. See p. 63 of the Manual for instructions.
Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.
