Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

I've recently encountered an issue in which my laptop's battery no longer charges to 100%.

I use until I receive the prompt for me to charge battery which is normally at 13%.  However, the battery now only charges up to 87% and stops charging, even though still plugged in.  I now have to unplug and plug back in the charger for the battery to continue charging, which I never had to do previously.

As I am writing this, the battery status was stuck on 96%.  I just unplugged and plugged back in the charger and now it's at 98%.

Is there anything that I can do to force the battery to charge to 100% without intervention?

Thanks

I suggest that you read the knowledgebase article that I wrote and then run the Windows Battery-Report utility to see why that is.

The chances are that your notebook's capacity has been reduced over time and unfortunately has not recalibrated to the current and actual 100%, which is not the 100% it had when new from the factory.

Hello Erico,

Thanks for the information!

I ran the battery report and the design and full charge capacities are the same.

The current estimate of battery life based on all observed drains since OS install are also the same for both design and full charge.

Power Source Test passed (Battery details: Charge Capacity = 66%, Full Charge Capacity = 3205 mAh, Remaining Capacity = 2933 mAh (91%).

Uninstalled Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery from device manager and restarted notebook.

Performed a power reset.

After performing all of the outlined testing, I still have to continually unplug then reconnect the charger in order for the battery to continue to charge to 100%.

Is there anything else that I could do to resolve this issue?
