Just recieved my black friday HP Envy 17t Touch Best Value Laptop Y7C72AV_1 (model when I ordered) or Y0F94AV (software indicated in laptop).
It is replacing my 17in Envy TouchSmart M7 E0K83UAR#ABA that has a defective right hinge (grrr)
QUESTION 1:
I have read the service manual and see that battery should be replaceable, all be it with taking the cover off. However I can't currently find a battery on HP's website or internet with their part number. 3-cell, 61-WHr, 5.36-WHr, Li-ion 849315-856. Anyone find one so far?
QUESTION 2:
I have read that there are a few different mother boards so I am going to crack this one open and see if I can add a second hard drive beyond the m.2 SSD in it.
Looks like I have to take off the U shaped rubber bumper on the bottom, that there are screws underneath that. Will I be able to get that to go back on? Any suggestions how to take it off and put it back on? Would be a bummer to mess up a part on a brand new laptop.
Thanks in advance for any help. I couldn't find any YouTube videos for taking apart this model yet, welcome any links.

Hi,
Welcome to HP support forum. From product number you provided it is an HP ENVY NOTEBOOK 17T-U000 CTO
http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?SearchText=Y0F94AV
Answer 1: Part number 849315-856 is not for your machine, it is only for 1 machine (very rare ? )
http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?SearchText=849315-856
The store may not update properly. The manual shows this series can use
3-cell, 61-WHr, 5.36-WHr, Li-ion part # 849315-856
3-cell, 41-WHr, 3.63-WHr, Li-ion part # 849314-856
Answer 2: That why this work is for HP authorized repairers only. You can buy rubber kit from the HP part store:

Hi,
As you can see, it is a CTO (Configure To Order) machine therefore finding it could be very hard.
Regards.

Thanks for the information about the Configure to Order, I only upped the battery size.
How do you find/determine the family the laptop is from? Appreciate you doing that for me.
The self contained battery is my concern, I want to make sure I can replace it once it has some age on it.
Does anyone know if there are screws under that rubber footer? The service manual says yes. I really would like to pop the bottom off to assure myself I can replace the battery, plus to find out if I can put a larger second hard drive in it.
Still would like suggestions on how to take the rubber footer off the bottom and then reattach it. Thanks!

I have disassembled the laptop and I can confirm that there are no possibility of combining a SSD with a HDD
Also the battery is replaceable just disassemble the bottom cover and 4 more screws and its out.
Kudos if this helped you

Thanks so much!! Appreciate you confirming that you can remove the battery!

Here you go
The rubber feet had a double sided adhesive and came back on without any hassle, the hdd port is not there so there is no way to add a hdd and a ssd, each has a certain motherboard.
