I run multiple instances of Bluestacks to play a game. Within the last few months, my laptop started to BSoD on me. Blue screen would pop up, "an error occurred, something, something, must restart". NO warnings. This now happens 3-6 times a day.
A few days ago, after one of these resets (only NOT a BSoD, just restarted and "appaeared" to update; it had the numbers counting up in %). Since then, my screen auto-rotate function no longer works. I looked in EVERY setting option I could find related to the screen and could not fix it. It now ONLY works in manual mode. Which is annoying, bc I play my games with the laptop on its side, so it looks like a giant phone.
The RIGHT hinge broke over a year ago for no reason (real close to 2.5 years old).
Any ideas or help on the BSoD? Or the screen rotation issue? Ai am probably going to end up getting a NEW laptop, because I cannot deal with these random resets all the time in the middle of my games.

Hi @krunide9,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing several issues with your HP Envy 360 Convertible, including frequent Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) errors, and screen rotation problems. Let's tackle each problem one by one.
Blue Screen of Death (BSoD): BSoD errors can be caused by various factors such as hardware issues, driver conflicts, or software problems. Since you mentioned that these errors started occurring after running multiple instances of Bluestacks, it's possible that Bluestacks is causing conflicts or overloading your system. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the BSoD issue:
- Update your graphics drivers and other essential drivers to the latest versions. You can do this through the Device Manager or by visiting the HP support website.
- Run a memory diagnostic test to check for any RAM issues. You can use Windows Memory Diagnostic tool for this.
- Scan your system for malware or viruses using reliable antivirus software.
- Check the Windows Event Viewer for error messages that might provide more information about the cause of the BSoD.
- Consider limiting the number of instances of Bluestacks you run simultaneously or try using alternative virtualization software to see if the problem persists.
Screen Rotation Issue: Since the screen rotation function stopped working after a recent restart, it's possible that a driver or software update caused this problem. Here's what you can try to fix the screen rotation:
- Make sure that the screen rotation lock is not enabled. You can usually find this option in the Quick Actions menu or the Settings app under Display settings.
- Update the graphics drivers and any other relevant drivers.
- Perform a system restore to revert your system to a previous state before the issue occurred.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
