I just got my laptop back from HP, they changed out the keyboard because a key popped out and couldn't hook back on. Anyway, I got it back and I noticed that the back light on the space bar is not lit. My laptop screen was off but the keys were still illuminated which is how I noticed it. I don't really notice the space bar not being illuminated when my laptop screen is on, but I swear all the keys were illuminated when I first bought it. But doing some research, I've found that HP doesn't put a back light on the space bar on their laptops. Can someone confirm this and tell me if your space bar lights up. My laptop model is an HP ENVY m7-u109dx.

Going through your post, I understand that you are concerned about the space bar backlight. Well, you do not need to worry, as we have no backlight on the spacebar 🙂

Our laptops have the backlight for all the keys, except for the spacebar. This is by design and not a malfunction.
