Please tell me if my laptop supports USB-C Thunderbolt?

I am trying to use a Dock

ThinkPad Thunderbolt™ 3 Dock Gen 2
Part Number (PN) 40AN0135xx

 

I installed the HP dock drivers that I found on the site, but my laptop still does not detect the dock.  I didn't try the Lenovo drivers because I didn't think they would work on my HP Envy

Its specs

It has  1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 10Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4, HP Sleep and Charge) port which is NOT a Thunderbolt port.

 

I tested my HP USB-C Gen 5 dock on my HP Envy 15-ee0047nr machine (which is newer than your Envy ed machine), looked like they are compatible  even HP does not list Envy machines on the following manual

HP Thunderbolt docks won't work on your Envy machine.
