Every time I turn on the computer, the internet won't work. This happens every time. What I have to do is restarting and the internet will work normally.
It's a hit or miss on Windows, but now in Linux Mint it's a consistent issue. The laptop is HP Envy Dv7 and I'm installing only Linux Mint Cinnamon.

Hi @lokango,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like there might be a few potential issues causing this problem. Here are some troubleshooting steps you could try.
- Update Drivers: Ensure that your network drivers are up to date. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause connectivity issues. You can usually update drivers through the Device Manager in Windows or through the Driver Manager in Linux Mint.
- Check Network Settings: Make sure your network settings are configured correctly. Double-check that your Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection is set up properly and that there are no conflicting settings.
- Reset Network Configuration: In both Windows and Linux Mint, you can try resetting your network configuration to default settings. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.
- Disable/Re-enable Network Adapter: In Windows, you can try disabling and then re-enabling your network adapter through the Device Manager. In Linux Mint, you can do this through the network settings or by using terminal commands.
- Check for Interference: Nearby electronic devices or physical obstructions can sometimes interfere with Wi-Fi signals. Try moving closer to your router or connecting via Ethernet cable to see if the issue persists.
- Run Network Troubleshooter: In both Windows and Linux Mint, there are built-in network troubleshooters that can help diagnose and fix connectivity issues. Run these tools to see if they can identify any problems.
- Review System Logs: Check the system logs in both Windows and Linux Mint for any error messages related to network connectivity. This can provide valuable information about what might be causing the issue.
- Test with Different Network: If possible, try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network or using a different Ethernet connection to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is specific to your network or your laptop.
- Update Firmware/BIOS: Sometimes firmware or BIOS updates can address compatibility issues that cause connectivity problems. Check for updates for your laptop's firmware or BIOS and install them if available.
- Hardware Issue: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's possible that there may be a hardware problem with your laptop's network adapter.
Try these steps and see if any of them help resolve the issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
