Hi, I bought HP ENVY Laptop 15-ep0123TX 3 days ago, I feel that my laptop is getting extremely hot which makes the keyboard surface not usable. I was wondering what should be the temperature of my laptop's surface, right now it stays between 45-50 degree celsius during normal usage with minimal applications on this laptop.
Any suggestions, What is wrong?
Thanks in advance.

Hi@Sudhirrana,
Request you the following list describes some causes of excessive heat & Blue Screen issue
- Dust inside the laptop.
- A new component, such as a hard drive, is added. The extra component causes the power supply to work harder and generate more heat. Extra heat also radiates off the new component and adds to the temperature inside the case.
- Over time, some cooling fans might slow down and wear out, as the laptop is getting hot, depending on the usage of the laptop.
- High ambient room temperature.
Step 1: Removing dust and lint by cleaning vents
Step 2: Ensuring proper space for ventilation
Step 3: Updating the BIOS ( Make sure Power adaptor connected to notebook )
Step 4: Update the Windows
Step 5 : Update Drivers from HP Support Assistance
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi@Sudhirrana,
`We have done the basic troubleshooting as per the document and the notebook needs to be checked taking remote access so that get to know it's a hardware or software issue.
I'd suggest you contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer or HP Chat Support Team.

50 deg at the CPU is normal temperature for HP.
If the keyboard is hot then the CPU should be at much higher temperature. With 3 days of usage you should consider returning it.
Otherwise you could try to reinstall the Windows.
