Hi! I have an HP Envy Laptop 17m-ce0xxx and use Windows 11. My laptop's internal camera has stopped working. So far I've tried restarting the computer, flipping the side camera switch on and off, resetting the camera using the computer's camera app settings, running the computer's camera trouble shooter, and running the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for Windows. Basically my computer doesn't seem to be able to find the camera anymore. I wanted to try reinstalling the camera driver from the HP website, but it just says that I don't need any new drivers at this time and doesn't send me a driver link. Does anyone have other suggestions or know how to get a driver link? Thanks

Have you checked the Device Manager to see if the camera is present?
Windows provides the web camera driver. If it is available for download, it will be at the link below this line.

The big issue you are facing is that HP is not providing driver support for Windows 11 for your laptop. Windows 11 Happens to be the OS you have installed.
If you return the OS to Windows 10, your webcam should work again.
You can do that be using the HP Cloud Recovery method.

Thanks for your suggestions!
Yes, I have checked the Device Manager, and "Camera" only appears after I select "Show Hidden Devices." Then "HP Wide Vision HD Camera" is grayed out. If I click on "Update Driver," it says I already have the latest driver. (When I go to this site https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-envy-17m-ce0000-laptop-pc-series/model/27236213?sku=5UB13UAR, it also says it doesn't have an update for me.) If I uninstall the camera from the Device Manager to see if the system will auto reinstall the driver, will I be able to reinstall the driver again if my computer doesn't automatically reinstall it?
New thing: In the Device Manager, I just saw that the "Device Status" says "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45) To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer." Does that mean that there really is a hardware issue, or just that the system still isn't finding it for other reasons? I've had Windows 11 for several months with the camera working the whole time. I recently had the laptop screen replaced though (the lower right corner of the screen cracked). Could the camera have been uninstalled when the new screen was replaced? If so, is that generally an easy fix? Thanks again.

" I recently had the laptop screen replaced though (the lower right corner of the screen cracked). Could the camera have been uninstalled when the new screen was replaced?"
That is a tidbit that you should have shared in the initial post.
One of the basic rules of troubleshooting any type of device is to consider if anything related to the device has been changed of disconnected.
The camera may not have been properly reconnected when the display was replaced.
That is very likely to be the reason you are facing this issue.
That will require disassembly to investigate and inspect the connection of the webcam.
If the screen replacement was done recently, the webcam issue is something you should bring up with the provider who replaced it.
After all, it is located within the display assembly.
Whether or not it is easy is a relative thing.
For a techie like me, that is easy. For many other people, not so much.
