Envy
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a 2018 HP Envy notebook. The fan is on 80% of the time and very loud, even though the laptop isn't even warm. I have tried all the fixes HP has suggested and nothing works. PLEASE I'm about to throw the laptop out of the window. I note that many people are having the same problem with this model. A response is needed ASAP.

@JudithAdene
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Let’s try these steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01007591 (do not skip any troubleshooting steps even if you feel steps are repeating)

Step 1: Adjust the computer power settings

Step 2: Clean the air vents

Step 3: Increase the efficiency to reduce heat

Step 4: Use Task Manager to identify corrupt processes

Step 5: Update the graphics driver

Step 6: Update the BIOS

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thank you for posting back.

This sounds like hardware related issue with the FAN. Hence, I would request you to contact our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to sort this out. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:  www.hp.com/contacthp/
