Common problems for Battery

Microsoft Windows 11

Hello - I have an older HP Envy 15t-as000 laptop that suddenly stopped powering on.

I have another HP laptop so I tried swapping the power chargers and the charger works fine.

The light next to the power port does not come on.  I tried replacing the internal power plug cable and that didn't fix the issue, still no charger light.  I have checked the battery and tried replacing the battery but still no power.

I have tried unplugging the battery, charging cable, power plug and holding down the power button to see if that helps and nothing.

I have unplugged the SDD, RAM, etc and made sure they are all seated well; but nothing - the laptop appears dead.  The fan is not spinning, nothing.

Any suggestions???

Here's a video from HP Support about laptops not powering on or holding a charge:

If your Notebook computer battery does not power the Notebook or hold a charge, then you might be experiencing a battery issue. Follow the steps in this video to troubleshoot the battery to determine if it needs to be replaced. Chapters: 00:00 Introduction 00:44 Troubleshoot the notebook power ...

Thank you for sharing the video.  I have already tried replacing the power supply (works on another PC), replacing the power connector (no change and charge light does not come on), and replacing the battery (no change).

The PC currently does not turn on so there is no way to run a diagnostic check yet.

I link the video first because something in there might work and solve the issue.

But if nothing there works, you have few if any options for getting it working again on your own.

To determine the cause with hardware failures, you have to be able run diagnostics. We have no way of accessing your PC from here, so we can not do that for you. You have to do it yourself. You do this by pressing the Esc key repeatedly when rebooting and then, when the HP Startup Menu appears, selecting Diagnostics (usually F2) and letting it run.

But if it is NOT possible to run diagnostics, then there is NOTHING more you can do by yourself -- and there is NOTHING we can do.

You will need to have the PC physically examined in a service facility by folks that can run their own diagnostics to determine what is wrong with it. And the problem with that is, while HP does do repair work of some sorts on PCs still under warranty, they generally do NOT do repair work on PCs out of warranty because they are not a general purpose repair facility. You would have to contact them in advance to see (1) if they are willing to work on it, and (2) if they will provide you any kind of repair cost estimate.

Since you live in the U.S., here is a link to the HP Service Repair Centers:
https://www.service-center-locator.com/hp-hewlett-packard/hp-hewlett-packard-service-center.htm

If that link does not get you a useful page, then use the main HP link:
http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

If you can't get assistance from HP, then you will have to seek out a local laptop service facility to have them examine it for you.

Good Luck
