Windows 10

Internal battery PX03XL died.  Laptop would not boot with AC plugged in.  Installed new battery.  Ran full charge procedure.  Laptop operated normally.  Shutdown laptop and unused for a month with AC plugged in.  Battery died.  Again would not boot with AC plugged in.  Installed another new battery.  Ran full charge procedure.  Everything fine and laptop performed great on battery only.  Plugged in AC and recharged battery to 100%.  Full shutdown and stored laptop for two weeks.  Would not boot with battery or AC.  Would press power button, power button light would come on as soon as I released light would go off and nothing - would not boot.

So, this time I disconnected the battery but did not remove.  Plugged in AC and laptop boots and operates normally.

Begs the question why does the laptop destroy batteries but operate under AC power normally without battery plugged in?

Remember, this is an internal battery.

Thanks for any help.

Please, you need to read my problem description thoroughly.  My Envy Sleekbook has an INTERNAL NON-REMOVABLE BATTERY, so some of your suggestions are totally off the mark.

Installed two new batteries after the replaced ones died.  Both new batteries discharged and ran down while the laptop was totally shut down and not in use.  Once discharged, the laptop would not boot up, PERIOD, even with the AC adaptor plugged in.

Once the internal battery was disconnected (but not removed), now the laptop boots up properly on AC power.

If anyone knows why the laptop with a dead battery will not boot up on AC power and how to correct this problem and the killing of batteries problem, it would be greatly appreciated.  Or, gasp, do I need to buy a new laptop to regain mobility.

PS:  I already tried all of the suggestions you gave that are applicable to a non-removable battery laptop.

Thank you.
