Hi @DhruvilG,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your frustration—having a premium laptop like the HP Envy X360 with noticeable battery degradation in just nine months is disappointing. While some battery performance loss over time is normal, a 70% reduction within such a short period is unusual.
Check Battery Health
- HP provides a tool called HP Battery Check in the HP Support Assistant to analyze battery health.
- On Windows:
- Open the Command Prompt and type:
powercfg /batteryreport
- Review the generated report for battery wear level and cycles.
Investigate Power Settings
- Optimize power settings for better battery life:
- Go to Settings > System > Power & Battery.
- Select Battery Saver Mode when unplugged.
- Disable background apps, unnecessary startup programs, and adjust screen brightness.
Check Software Issues
- BIOS Update: Ensure you have the latest BIOS version installed.
- Driver Updates: Outdated drivers can cause power drain. Update them via HP Support Assistant or the Device Manager.
- Background Processes: Use Task Manager to identify and stop resource-hungry apps.
Battery Calibration
- Fully charge the battery to 100%, then drain it completely until the laptop shuts down. Recharge it to 100% without interruptions. Repeat once or twice to recalibrate.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
