After seeing this issue is common with this model I’d also like to ad that last night when I opened my laptop I noticed the hinge was loose so I closed it to look then opened and as I did the hinge broke BUT the screen then progressed to split right before my eyes!  I couldn’t close it to stop this from happening so I just watched in horror. It is out of the one year warranty but within two. I honestly didn’t believe a pricey but nice laptop like this would fail within a couple of years. 

im so devoed. Is there any customer support here in Australia that would would take a look at this for me?  Has anyone else in Aus had an success with this issue?

As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.
