Hi,

The keyboard on my laptop has a couple of keys that are not working intermittently. I am trying to decide whether to get the keyboard replaced, use a wireless keyboard, or replace the entire machine. The people at the authorized service center (BestBuy) indicated that they do not do hardware support (which seems weird), and that replacing the (out of warranty) keyboard would cost $150-200.

I would like some advice on how to proceed. Because the machine is out of warranty, I don't seem to be able to contact HP directly for information.

Can anyone assist?

Thanks!

Tom

Note that I am not really up for pulling the machine apart and replacing the keyboard, even if that is an option.

That tells the tale.

You are going to have to make the decision on which of the alternative solutions you have already proposed is most appropriate to your requirements.

That is a personal decision.
