There are no service shops that will repair my laptop hinge. I have contacted them but they refuse to do it saying it is better to just buy a new laptop. I don't want a new one this one is only 4 years old. It works great when hooked to an external monitor but the laptop monitor cuts out because of the broken hinge.
I suppose I could fix it if I could find a replacement case because the repairs with JB Weld or other epoxys is only a temporarily fix. I really do think HP should either recall the faulty laptops OR at least give a very good trad in for a new or repaired laptop.
I need to get to someone who can answer my question. How can I get it repaired. I am in Canada.
Further more, I keep telling this I am in Canada, but it will not change or remember this!!

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
This sounds like hardware related issue with the Hinge assembly and in order to fix this issue, your computer needs to be serviced. As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now.
I would request you to reach out to our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to check the available service options in order to diagnose the computer physically. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
