Product: HP ENVY x360 Convertible Laptop PC 13m-bd0000 (172M9AV)

I got HP Envy, it is 2021 model. 

 

The hinges broke and are very low quality . and I understand many of HP Envy users have same complaint that even daily light usage has caused the hinges to break.  now the plastic has come off and the lid doesnot open. 

 

The thin plastic cover cannot support metal hinges. It is a manufacturing defect

 

I want to refer to Carson et al. v. HP Inc. (Case No. 1:22-cv-00208-CFC)  and the complaint is of poor quality hinges

 

 

 

  • Design Defect: HP knowingly used poorly designed, weak plastic parts to anchor heavy metal hinges.
  • Deceptive Marketing: HP marketed these laptops as premium, durable 360-degree convertibles while concealing the inherent defect.
  • Premature Failure: Ordinary opening and closing causes the hinge anchors to snap out of the casing after only a few months of normal use.
