I have an HP ENVY and it keeps shutting down claiming the battery power is low.
The internal battery is not charging. I am trying to use the power cable only and the laptop doesn't seem to care that it has full power. The power cable is fine. I do not care about the battery. I am buying a newer HP Envy laptop soon, but I need this one for now, so I was hoping to keep it going for just a few months more.
1. Can I remove the battery and just run it without one?
2. Can I disable the software that is shutting down the laptop in mid use?
3. Is the power cable not enough? It should be enough power to run the laptop!
It's working right now as I type this, but if I put a game on or a song it will shut down.... HELP!!!

Hi @Matt531971
1) you can remove the battery but if there is no RTC battery, you will always receive CMOS error because it changes the BIOS time.
2) No. I don't think it's a software, hardware or firmware issue.
3) If the device does not stay on when using the charger, the problem may be not only with the battery but also with the charger itself,

UPDATE: So I bought a new power cord. I plugged it in and It is still crashing.
I ran all the HP diagnostics, and it says it is the battery. Ok fine...
So, either I get a new battery or get a new computer.
I wish I could just remove the battery and use the power cord, but the **bleep** laptop won't let me lol
I can disable the battery on windows 11, I figured that out, but I am afraid the laptop will not work then. I have never done that before so I do not know what might happen.

The part number of the battery is, use that part number in a search engine to find a reseller, I leave also the service manual to see how to open and remove the battery.
3-cell, 52-WHr, 4.55-AHr, Li-ion battery L09281-855
