Today, I opened up my laptop and was upset to find that the left hinge had caused the screen to pop off and crack. I do not take this laptop anywhere with me, it sits on my desk. My warranty is expired (I bought this in 2019) and I am deeply upset at the fact I spent 1000$ on this laptop, for it to break due to a faulty hinge. I researched the problem, and apparently lots of others have the same problem.

The number of owners who have this happen is actually statistically a very small number in comparison to the number of units sold.
If that were not the case, HP would have a recall out for x360 notebooks..
I have had a few Spectre x360 notebooks, provided by HP and purchased on my own dime and have never had that happen.
I have travelled with each of them from Europe to the US numerous times.
You can flame me if you like, but I do stand by what I stated. My statements are my own opinion.

Hi, I hear you.
However, my research in this particular community shows similar problems with this particular model of laptop. I have never had a laptop where the hinge suddenly freezes up like this. For $1000, this careless design flaw is not acceptable.
I do not understand the divisiveness of "you can flame me if you like". Respectfully, I was under the impression that this forum is for solving problems. What do you suggest I do with my laptop, with its broken hinge and screen?

I wasn't being divisive, I just made a statement. It is our perogative to do that as long as we are polite and civil.
I have been active here in the forum since 2009. I have been flamed for no reason many times, but my temperament is tough enough to withstand it. The initial tone of your first post led me to sense that was what you might do. I am pleased to see that I was wrong.
My suggestion, is for you to find out how much the repair cost will be from a shop, unless you know how to replace the parts yourself.
Helping you to resolve issues is what we volunteer our time here for.
If it were my own laptop and the cost of repair was greater than 50% of the laptop's current value, I would bite the bullet and source a replacement notebook.
Let me know if you would like me to see what the parts go for on the open market.
eBay is a good source for used parts and Amazon for new parts as well.
