HP Envy x360 13z-ay000 touch
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Would it be possible for me to upgrade the RAM and storage of the HP Envy x360 13z-ay000 down the road if I were to buy it? I'm not sure if they are both integrated or not, but I would like to know if I have the ability to upgrade it if I find out the specs that it comes with aren't enough for what I need.

Your machine is a CTO machine with following options

           https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-envy-x360-laptop-13z-ay000-8lz58av-1

1. RAM: You can't upgrade because it supports for DDR4-3200, 1.2 V, nonupgradeable, onboard system memory in 16 GB and 8 GB configurations

2. STORAGE:  Which option did you buy from the list ?

  • 128 GB M.2 SSD
  • 256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD
  • 1 TB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD

Manual says it supports

  • 1 TB, 2280, peripheral component interconnect express (PCIe)-3×4, non-volatile memory express (NVMe), SuperSpeed (SS) solid-state drive with Three-Level Cell (TLC)
  • 1 TB, 2280, PCIe, NVMe, value solid-state drive
  • 512 GB, 2280, PCIe-3×4, NVMe, solid-state drive with TLC
  • 512 GB, 2280, PCIe, NVMe, value solid-state drive
  • 256 GB, 2280, PCIe-3×4, NVMe, solid-state drive with TLC
  • 256 GB, 2280, PCIe, NVMe, value solid-state drive
  • 128 GB, M.2 2280, SATA-3 solid-state drive with TLC

But in general, you can upgrade to 2TB of M.2 NVMe SSD drive using single sided 2280 form factor. I believe some vendors make 4TB now but please stick with 2TB.  Crucial P1/P2/P5 or Samsung 970/980 ... should work.

Regards.
