HP ENVY x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-ew0000 (549V8AV)

Hello HP Community,

I own an HP Envy x360 2-in-1 Laptop (15-ew0023dx), and it has been working great until last night. When I went to open it, the left hinge came loose and opened up, making it difficult to close properly.

There is no major damage to the screen, but I have noticed some small crack-like lines on the display. It seems like the hinge screw may have come out rather than a complete hinge break.

The laptop has not been dropped or mistreated in any way. Unfortunately, it is out of warranty (Factory warranty expired on December 08, 2023), but I urgently need to get it repaired as my exams are coming up soon and I rely on this laptop for my studies.

I've come across multiple reports of hinge issues with this model, so I would like to know:

  • Does HP offer out-of-warranty repair services for this issue?
  • Given the frequency of hinge problems in this model, is there any support program or recall for affected users?
  • What are the best options for quick and reliable repair?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated, as I need my laptop fixed as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance!

Contact an HP Service Center in India:

Just select India from the pulldown. I cannot speak for HP, but understand that Service Centers in India can do out ofwarranty repairs. You could also consider taking it to a private technician store but I think you are better off with HP Techs.
