Since I bought my laptop 10 month ago I had a very irritating fan back noise.  However, it's getting worse up to a point where if the fan is at full speed (see video below which was taken during a bios upgrade) the noise becomes unbearable.

During 'idling' the fan has this constant irritating noise.  It's difficult to describe it.  A much less intense version as seen in the above vide.

Unfortunately I live in a very remote area and cannot send my laptop away for two weeks to get it repaired as I need it to run my business.  If there is any way I can fix this myself please let me know.  My only other option is to buy a brand new laptop.  I'm very disappointed in HP with the low quality products they are making these days as this is not my first problem with HP that I had.

Hi,

Yes, it sounds like the fan needs to be replaced.

You could order it online and replace it yourself. Or have it done by a local technician.

The part number for the fan is L53541-001

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=L53541-001&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0...

On page 45 of service manual, you can see the steps to replace the fan.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06297488

You could try contacting HP support directly since under warranty and see if they would be willing to send you the part.

Hope it helps,
