HP Envy x360 Convertible 15m-bp1xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The screws holding the lid to the hinge on the left side broke free from the lid. By "Lid" I mean to top cover of the display. Specifically, the three screws that hold the lid of the display to the hinge. The metal threaded ferrels molded into the top lid have popped out. I successfully unclipped the lid from the rear of the display and can clearly see where the threaded ferrels broke loose.

I am astounded that such a fragile plastic connection is made to hold these screws in place.

I can replace the lid if only I knew where to purchase one. Otherwise, the laptop works fine. There is no damage to the display but I cannot close it.

PLEASE HELP ME FIND A REPLACEMENT COVER?LID whatever it's called.

HI@Itchybrain,

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Apologies for all the inconvenience

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. This sounds like hardware related issue with the hinge assembly and in order to fix this issue,  your computer needs to be serviced.  As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now.

I would request you to reach out to our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to check the available service options in order to diagnose the computer physically.  HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:  www.hp.com/contacthp/
