Envy x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP Envy x360 Convertible has its fan running all the time.  The fan starts as soon as the laptop is powered on.  I've disabled the "Fan Always On" setting in the BIOS setting to no avail.  The BIOS is updated with the latest F.34 version.  The system is completely up to date using the HP Support Assistant.  The fan vent is totally clean with no dust.  There has been no hardware or software upgrade recently.  The fan has always been on ever since the laptop was purchased a couple of years ago.  I just learn to live with it, but I'd like to find a way to have it only turn on when needed.

Welcome to HP forums, I see that your notebook fan is running always and you have done almost all the troubleshooting steps.

  • Does the computer shut down due to overheating?

Meanwhile, run an extensive system test from F2.

Refer this HP document for the steps to run the test:- Click here

Reply with the result of the above-mentioned steps, for further assistance.

Cheers.

@Sandytechy20, thank you for the diagnostic steps.  I've ran the extended diagnostic and everything passed.  Is there anything else I can do.  I've already went to the BIOS setting and disabled always run fan.  Thanks!
