Hi,
I bought HP Envy x360 13 in March 2021,
Today hinge has given out on my HP Envy x360, i heard a cracking sound upon closing the laptop. The laptop has never been dropped or miss handled.
I can't even fold the laptop because the hinge prevents the lid from doing so.
The HP verified service center in my area, told me that it would cost me 25k (350+ dollars). Which is highly unreasonable for a broken hinge.
Is there any solution?
Here are some images.

If the Service Center has quoted a price there is not much we can do to make it any less expensive for you. Fixing the hinge can require much more than just replacing the hinge. Might need some large chassis pieces replaced too and it is quite labor intensive. Sorry for the troubles.

This is a design flaw which is apparent by the huge no of customers facing the similar issue. Why should we be charged for faulty design. A device this expensive should not be falling apart on its own. Also HP has accepted the fault and repaired the laptop free of charge for many customers.
