I have had the Envy for 15 months now (under Extended Warranty). I regularly use the laptop in its hinged (flat tablet) mode. I have never spilt anything on it or dropped it, bent the screen bizarrely, etc.
I came into my room to see that the screen was flexing. I bent the screen back to see if it would pop back into place and it flexed further out.
I see this is a common issue.
Any recommendations for how to fix this, or is this simply a ring-up HP and wait for this to be shipped off for repair effort?
(I will phone them up tomorrow morning regardless)

Hi@browncharlie_,
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Apologies for all the inconvenience
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. This sounds like hardware related issue with the hinge assembly and in order to fix this issue, your computer needs to be serviced. As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now.
I would request you to reach out to our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to check the available service options in order to diagnose the computer physically. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
