I am writing to seek assistance regarding an issue with my laptop, an HP ENVY x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC (model: 15-ey0000, 54J83AV), which I purchased last year. The warranty for my device expired on May 2, 2024, and unfortunately, I discovered a significant problem with my laptop on the evening of June 13, 2024.
The issue began with the screen cracking from the lower left corner. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the hinge mechanism appeared to be faulty, preventing the laptop from rotating properly and ultimately causing the screen to break. Unfortunately, I discovered this issue just after the warranty period had expired. I have photos of the laptop at the time the problem occurred, which I am happy to share if needed.
I apologize for the delay in reaching out, as I have been quite busy over the past few months. The hinge issue was not immediately obvious and only became apparent when I closed the laptop, leading to the screen’s damage.
After researching this problem, I found that other HP ENVY x360 models and similar laptops have experienced the same hinge-related issues, indicating that this may be a manufacturing defect. Given the circumstances and the timing of the issue, I believe that the hinge defect directly contributed to the screen damage.
I would like to request a reasonable solution to this problem, as it seems to be related to the quality of the hinge mechanism. I look forward to your prompt response and a resolution to this matter.
