HP Envy x360 15-ar052sa
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

The 128GB SSD on my laptop has broken and I'm looking to replace it. However I don't know whether the port on this model (15-ar052sa) with the AMD A12 processor supports NVMe SSDs or whether I need to just get an M2 SATA SSD.

Please could you let me know.

Thanks

Hi:

I would remove the drive and google the drive model number, because the service manual indicates the only M.2 drives that are supported are NVMe, and only on notebooks with the A9 processor.   See chapter 1.

Your notebook's processor isn't even listed in the manual.

If you look at chapter 3, page  16 of the manual, it also gives the HP part number of the only M.2 drive supported.

256-MB, M2.2280, PCIe 3×4SS, NVMe, solid-state drive supporting TLC (for use only on computer models equipped with an AMD A9-9410 processor)  847109-001.

Yours is a 128 GB according to what you posted, so nothing in the manual matches.
