hello!! i have a HP Envy x360 2-in-1 laptop (14-es0xxx), and i wanted to know some stylus recommendations for it. both third-party and HP products are fine. i want to take notes with it for the coming semester. for context, i bought the laptop in 2023, so it is an older model.

Hi @yetain ,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you have an HP Envy x360 2-in-1 (14-es0xxx) and are looking for stylus recommendations for note-taking. I’ll be happy to guide you.

Your Envy x360 model supports Microsoft Pen Protocol (MPP), so active pens that use MPP will work best and provide palm rejection and pressure sensitivity.

Recommended HP stylus options:

HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen
This is the most compatible and reliable option for your model.
It supports pressure sensitivity, tilt, and palm rejection, which makes it ideal for note-taking and writing for long study sessions.

HP MPP 1.51 Pen
This is a more budget-friendly HP option.
It works well for basic note-taking and annotations, though it may not support tilt like the newer MPP 2.0 pen.

Recommended third-party stylus options:

Microsoft Surface Pen (MPP compatible versions)
Surface Pens that support MPP work well with HP Envy x360 laptops.
They offer good writing accuracy and pressure sensitivity for notes.

Renaisser or Metapen MPP stylus (MPP 2.0 models)
These are popular third-party MPP pens with good palm rejection and battery life.
They are often more affordable while still being suitable for students.

Important notes before purchasing:

Avoid passive or “capacitive” stylus pens, as they do not support palm rejection or pressure sensitivity.

Look specifically for MPP or MPP 2.0 compatibility in the product description.

For note-taking, pressure sensitivity and palm rejection make a big difference in comfort and accuracy.

Your 2023 Envy x360 is fully compatible with these pens, so you should have no issues using them for the upcoming semester.

I hope this helps.
