The screen on my HP Envy X360 popped out because the hinge on one side broke. I searched the forum and I know it's a known issue. I bought the laptop 2.5 years ago, so it's out of warranty. What can be done to fix the laptop right away?

 Hi @BoNo4,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

I understand that this is a Hardware issue. However, the support here is limited to software troubleshooting. Since the unit might need repair, I would request you to contact HP Phone support who can schedule a repair as per the warranty and the issue can be fixed.

For that to happen, we will give you additional instructions/information via Private Message.

Please check your inbox on the forums page for the private message.

Thanks for getting back to me. As I mentioned in my post, this very expensive laptop was purchased 2.5 years ago, so it's out of warranty.

From the amount of customer complains about the same problem, it is apparent that the hinges and hinge casing of HP Envy x360 laptops are poorly designed and made of the material that cannot withstand normal use.

I don't see how sending me a 1-800 number over a private message and telling me to pay for getting a defective computer fixed would be helpful. Perhaps I should take this conversation to Facebook and X, so people aggrieved by HP would be able to get together and file a class action lawsuit.

Hello, I've had the same issue on my laptop also purchased around the same time you got yours. Did you ever get anything helpful from hp? Just curious if they will fix it since it's obviously a common problem or if I need to just take it to a local place for repair.

Thanks 🙂
