Sorry to inform you but if your laptop is not under warranty, you have to pay for support call. But, the volunteers here will be happy to guide you in replacing the battery yourself, or to order a battery and have someone local install it. To do this we need the Model number or Product ID of your laptop.

Hi, I was able to get somebody on the phone at HP, they then transferred me to someone else who they said would help, that person then put me on hold for almost a full hour and never came back, terrible customer service.
I called Costco next, as I purchased with them, and my costco citi card, so waiting to see, it should be under citi warranty.
If not, its a Envy x360 model 15-cp0053cl (so small cant really read it very well)
Thanks for your help!

That seems to be the correct model number. In case your warranty claim falls through, here's the Service Guide- http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06001791.pdf It calls for HP battery L09281-855 and has procedures how to open the laptop and replace the battery.

Well HP sells about 13 million laptops a year. There's going to be some issues here and there. There is also some habits that are bad for batteries like leaving it plugged in all the time. I'm guilty of that myself. Most all electronics makers source their batteries from suppliers, while they are still responsible for them under warranty, they are also at the mercy of the suppliers.
Bottom line is I wouldn't abandon a maker for a 2 year old battery. I just happen to own HP because they had the product I wanted at the price I was willing to pay. I've owned Dells, Lenovos, Acers, etc. in the past.
