I purchased a 13" HP Envy x360 for use at the new job I started in March 2022. The machine has spent the majority of its life on my work desk, with carrying it to conference rooms on rare occasions. Yesterday, when opening the lid, the hinge on the right side made a snapping sound and pushed through the screen itself (the screen is separating from the shell on that corner). The screen is not damaged, but the hinge does not function and I am concerned with any slight movement may crack the screen.
It appears this issue is well-known, as I have seen multiple posts on the issue here and hardware sites as well as a class action lawsuit filed late last year (later withdrawn). There are even a few official HP Service videos on how to replace the display panel hinge (most manufacturers don't want you to take your hardware apart). I don't have a way to source the replacement part(s) though.
Other than this issue, the computer has been great.
I went to the closest UBreakiFix (an HP Service Center location), and they informed me that they have seen the issue many times, and unfortunately they cannot order the necessary part and cannot help me, They recommended reaching out to HP directly for help. This is a huge bummer.
I've seen many instances of this exact issue being brought up in the Community, and in most cases an HP Support Agent has reached out to the poster directly to help resolve the issue. I am hoping for that to be the case here. Thank you!

The screen of the laptop could not be closed due to jamming of the right side hinge of the laptop within a year and a half. Also the screw of the hinge came out of the gap between the screen and the back cover. So the glass protection cover of the display was also damaged because of it. However, the touch pad and screen are working fine.
I contacted HP customer care after this problem occurred, but got poor response from them. As a result, an incorrect quotation of the total repairing cost of INR 37,000 rupees was given from customer care and HP service center. In which, hinges of INR 5,000, display panel of INR 22,000 and back cover replacement of INR 8,000 were mentioned.
However, I disagreed with this. Because HP Inc has previously admitted that all of HP's premium laptops have manufacturing defects that cause hinge problems. Also, as the company made claims in the marketing and advertisement of the laptops to attract customers, all the claims are false. As the company has stated in the specifications of its laptop, the laptop does not use a strong metal material. Plastic material has been used instead. Due to which these so-called premium laptops are not as premium as their price.
