Hi:

The product specs for your notebook indicate that it comes with 1 x 8 GB of DDR3L-1600 memory.

It is impossible for you to install DDR4 memory in a PC that comes with DDR3L memory for 3 reasons:

1. DDR4 memory runs at a lower voltage than DDR3L memory (1.2V vs 1.35V).

2.  DDR4 memory has a different number of contact pins than DDR3L memory has.

3.  The notch in the DDR4 memory is cut in a different place than it is in DDR3L memory, making it physically impossible for someone to install a DDR4 memory chip in a DDR3 memory slot.

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the memory upgrade information...

Now it may be possible that the notebooks with the Intel 7th gen core processors have DDR4 memory, but yours definitely does not.

The parts list for your notebook confirms this...
