HP Folio 9470m
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi guys,

I've recently formatted and upgraded my HP Folio 9470m ultrabook. It had a faulty HDD so I upgraded to an SSD.

Currently running WIndows10 Pro

I'm unable to find the driver for its LT2523 LTE/HSPA+ Mobile Broadband module.

prior to the format I was using Windows7 and the mobile modem for work.

In the device manager these are the following pending driver issues:

> (!) HP lt2523 Mobile Broadband Device

System Devices

> (!) HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor

I could not find the dirvers in the HP drivers sections or articles with this request.

Please help!

Hi:

The W10 driver for the HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor doesn't work (that would be the 3D driveguard driver).

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71501-72000/sp71714.exe

You need this driver for the base system device...

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp63501-64000/sp63637.exe

And you should be able to use the W8.1 driver for the mobile broadband module.

Run it in W8.1 compatability mode, or manually install the driver.

Thank you very much for the info and links!

I was at a point where I thought there was no solution as I was looking for the past wk...

I can confirm that the HP LT2523 from your link for SP63282 works and the sim registered straight away, very happy as this was my priority!

The base driver SP63637 worked aswell.

However the 3D driveguard driver for HP Mobile Data Protection file SP71714 did not work, the item still appears with the (!) mark.

Should I be consenered with this item?

I can probably live without it as I don't see it affecting my general use.

You're very welcome.

The only time that device is necessary would be if you don't have a solid state drive (SSD), and you bumped or dropped your notebook from a very low height.

The accelerometer parks the mechanical hard drive heads in case of such an event, and in some cases protects the hard drive from damage.

Usually the fall is from a desk or table, and in that case, it is unlikely the hard drive would survive even if the 3D driveguard worked.

I would love to figure out how to get that driver to install, but I have not found a way as of yet.

Even browsing to the driver folder from the Mobile Protection Data Sensor, and trying to manually install the driver doesn't work.
