HP G42-415DX Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi,  I have a HP G42-415DX notebook and I'd like to upgrade my memory from 3GB to 8GB.
Are there less pricey compatable options available than buying from Crucial for $75.99?
Thanks.

Its an AMD system and uses DDR3-1066 memory or DDR3-1333 which will downclock on the motherboard to run at 1066 mhz.

This is the right memory module...2 of these or modules with these characteristics gets you to the max of 8 gigs:

4-GB, PC3-10600, 1333-MHz (for models 1.2 and 1.3 only) 599092-001

This is first-line OEM memory made by Micron which is a major chip maker and the modules are $28 each so $56 for a pair in the USA, saving about $20.

You want to be sure to get low density modules, 8 black blocks on the side not 4.

Post back if you have any other questions or can't use amazon.com USA for some reason and we can find the memory for you.
