I have been very satisfied with this HP USB-C G5 docking station but after 6months of flawless operations it has started to act up all of a sudden. As follows:
After shut down of computer or hibernate power button goes dark, and the screen too, as they should.
BUT THEN: It wakes up on its own every couple of minutes, turning the power light on. If the monitor is connected, it will light up (to black/grey). The computer will wake up too, so when I touch the keyboard it shows the lock screen. It has to do with the docking station from what I can tell, since disconnecting the computer doesn't make the problem go away. Neither does power cycling, or disconnecting power and pressing power for 30 sec and reconnecting.
(Furthermore, the hp support site says warranty expired, but that can't be the case after just 6 months. In addition, it keeps throwing me between different country sites too, I've been through Turkey, Greece and Israel so far. I bought it from HP web store, so I don't have a physical store to go to)
Any ideas how to solve this at home, or should I keep on fighting my way through the hp "site jungle" trying to get a hold of a person?
Many thanks!

Update, SOLVED:
I went on to update FW of the docking station, but the problem remained (on hibernate). Tried my wife's HP and it didn't happen there. Got suspicious of my laptop obviously, and tried hibernating it standalone. Indeed, it was waking up on its own, the docking station wasn't the culprit! After that I had to troubleshoot and learn a lot on the internet about powercfg and wake timers, etc. Powercfg override "Legacy kernel caller" didn't do the trick. Finally I made these two adjustments to the latop and the problem is gone
1. gpedit.msc
"Open Computer Configuration, Administrative Templates, System, Power Management and then Sleep Settings.
Set Allow Applications to Prevent Automatic Sleep to Disabled. If this is a laptop, there will be two options, one for On Battery and one for Plugged In, so you might want to change both."
2. In addition I disabled wifi adapter's "Wake on magic packet" as well as "Wake on pattern match", but that probably didn't make a difference.
Finally, that thing about it screen waking up even when computer disconnected must have been something I remembered wrong, since it was in the middle of the night/dreaming and the screen was waking me up. I probably pulled out another cord than the computer's USB-c. 🙂

Sounds like your machine and the dock are NOT compatible. What is your machine ?
