Hello everyone i have a hp g6 2355sf and i want to replace the cpu fan because its making a lot of noise.
My fan's socket is a 988 rPGA, could you please find me another fan thats compitable with the socket.
I had read that there are better choices than the default fan.

I understand cooling fan on your PC is making loud noises and you need a replacement part number for the CPU fan.
Don't worry I'll try to help you out.
Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?
As you mentioned cooling fan on your PC is making loud noises and you need a replacement part number for the CPU fan.
Update the BIOS on your PC and check if it helps.
Link to update the BIOS.
You can also update other drivers on your PC using HP support assistant and check if it helps.
Refer this article to know more information about using HP support assistant.
I have checked the records and found the replacement part number for heatsink and fan for your laptop. Please find the details below.
Heat sink for use only with computer models equipped with switchable discrete video
memory 680550-001
Fan (available separately) 680551-001
Refer the laptop maintenance and service guide for more information.
