Hello,
I would like to know if my notebook (product details provided above) is compatible with an SSD. I am about placing an order for a SAMSUNG SSD 850 EVO 500GB drive. Is this advisable?
If yes, how do I go about this delicate process without losing my installation files: I have very little media files on the HD drive, besides I do have an external hard drive where most of my data are stored. The computer came preinstalled with a 500GB hard drive, of which just 225GB is in use.
Thank you.

Hi,
Yes the SSD will work and improve everyday performance of the PC. Before installing the SSD you can migrate an image of the hard drive which is in the system at the moment to the SSD. You will need a USB to Sata adapter which you can find cheap online. To perform the migration you can use Samsung software and follow the detailed guide by Samsung. Look under the heading "Samsung Data Migration software" where you will find the software and guide in various languages.
