Hello, I own a
HP Pavilion Laptop 15-cc0xx (5+ years old)
Windows 10 64 operating system
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7200U CPU @ 2.50GHz 2.71 GHz
917 GB: 523GB (used) - 394GB(free)
..and I've been told that the battery needs to be replaced. (I ran into recent issues where the laptop wasn't charging past a certain percentage.) I've replaced the battery and all was well, however, when calibrating the battery (Fully charging the laptop and then restarting. Then pressing F2.) I ran a System Extensive Test and was given this message:
Is there anything I can do to repair this? Can this be salvaged? Is my laptop done for? I'm unsure and very new to laptop repair and I want to know if this is an easy fix, such as opening the laptop and replacing the hard drive for a new one? My computer runs fine and it can fully charge. This message seems alarming and I would really love advice as to what to do for this error.
Any help would be really appreciated, thanks.

Hi, Desi:
You can fix the problem by installing a new hard drive and reinstalling the operating system.
I recommend you replace the failed mechanical hard drive with a better performing 2.5" solid state drive (SSD).
I recommend the Western Digital Blue SA510:
Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.
After you replace the drive, you can use the HP cloud recovery tool to reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.
Here is an info link for how to use the utility. You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive to create the recovery media with.

You can download the software from the Microsoft Store.

Since you have to use the utility on another PC, so you will need to enter your notebook's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed to make the recovery media.
